However, because of the mountains in the north, there is more wet weather than on the mainland. The most rain occurs in early June and late in August, so plan your holiday between the end of June and the middle of August if you don’t want to carry an umbrella. Interestingly, the fall rains often create a “winter spring,” complete with budding and flowering on many of the plants.

Usually, the only snow you will see is on the Tremuntana range in the north, and that is not all that common. But, while winters are mild temperature-wise, they can be stormy. Spring and autumn temperatures are mild and even winter rarely sees lower than  50ºF (10ºC).

In spite of the fact that there is a possibility of rain out of season Majorca has many more sunny days than countries in northern Europe. With average temperatures below 86ºF (30ºC) in the summer, mild spring and fall, and winters rarely below 50ºF (10ºC), it is an ideal climate for holiday travel.  Water temperatures between 64ºF (18ºC) in May to 79ºF (26ºC) in August, make it perfect for water sports as well.

And don’t be afraid to try it in winter.  Hotels and flights are cheaper and it is still warm in the sun!
