There are many fines things to see and do.  Here are a few of them:

• The Banys Àrabs in Palma – Moorish, with a small brick bath-house (hamman), a nice garden, picnic tables.

• Museu de Mallorca - in Old Town, this 16^th century mansion is known for its medieval religious paintings and local archeology exhibits.

• Castell de Bellver – Circular fortress with a castle museum; located on a hilltop 3 km west of the Palma city center, with an amazing panoramic view of Palma and the harbor. In the 18^th and 19^th centuries it was used as a military prison.

• Parc Natural de S’Allbufera – Located in the south of Port d’Alcúdia, a pristine wetland that is perfect for birdwatching.

• Drach Caves – found on the eastern coast, they contain Martel Lake, at which classical concerts are preformed.

• Basilica de Sant Frescesc – gothic cloisters and pillars, a central well, baroque altar, elaborately decorated chapels and the tomb of Ramon Llull, 13th century Mallorcan writer.

While many never get past Palma with its extraordinary beaches and active nightlife, do try to see the rest of the island. Take the narrow gauge railway from Palma through the mountains to Soller for a remarkable and unforgettable journey!
